
Training
We warmly welcome 8 to 16 year olds into our Youth training squad.
Throughout the year we run a weekly Youth swimming session on a Sunday morning from 07:30-08:30 at Farnham Leisure Centre. The focus here is a mixture of drills to work on swimming and racing technique and sessions to improve athletes’ endurance.
From late April we offer a weekly bike session at the Blackbushe Go-Kart track (next to the airport at Blackbushe) on a Thursday evening from 6:00-6:45pm. This is a closed track and so is perfect for building confidence in riding a bike in a safe setting. And it doesn’t matter what sort of bike – mountain bike or road bikes are fine. All we ask is that the bike is road-worthy, and we insist that athletes wear a helmet – we have a strict “No helmet – no ride” policy.
From April-July we aim to offer a monthly ‘training camp’ for approximately 3-3.5 hrs and we use that to run through bike, running and transition skills and to give participants the opportunity to link all the different elements of triathlon together.
Racing
We encourage Youth members to compete in the British Triathlon Federation (‘BTF’) regional series of races. We are currently in the South Central region and this is a link to the races that will make up that series in 2025: Series Events – British Triathlon
